Mike Dekoning is the President of Allstate Benefits, based locally, and is also the Senior Vice President of the Allstate Corporation. Having spent much of his life in Canada and seeing their universal health care system first-hand, he has an accurate view of the systems used both there and in the US. 

Come learn about the myths and truths between the two countries and what the future might hold here in America for health care and insurance. As the US heads into an election year and the single-payer debates heat up, this is a must attend event. 

Prior to joining Allstate, Mike served as President and CEO of a major international reinsurer in the life, disability, long term care and annuity sectors. He also worked at a major Canadian financial institution where he led product risk projects across the US, Canada and Asia. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto, where he studied actuarial science, economics and statistics. Mike has also served in leadership roles with LIMRA, ACLI and is an active volunteer with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Make-A-Wish of Georgia.
